What is Graphiant?

Graphiant is a Silicon Valley-based provider of a private, next-generation Network-as-a-Service (NaaS).  Led by Khalid Raza, the co-founder of SD-WAN pioneer Viptela, Graphiant’s NaaS provides connectivity between the enterprise WAN, hybrid cloud, network edge, customers and partners.  The Graphiant NaaS combines performance, security, agility, and affordability to enable network architects to build enterprise-grade networks at the speed of business.  The company is funded by Sequoia Capital, Two Bear Capital & Atlantic Bridge. Traditional network models and designs do not solve modern day networking challenges. Businesses are moving at a rapid pace and connectivity to services between enterprises play a major role as IT spend continues to grow even if it is at a slower pace.

Graphiant’s unique solution and architecture provides a private network for businesses to publish applications and services in a marketplace for the consumption of only their private customers over a new WAN network programmable using metadata by APIs.

Traditional network architectures do not address the challenges of modern networks. Business models are changing from a point-in-time sale to service delivery models that persist throughout the engagement. By providing a service-based model, companies can incorporate services based on their needs on a pay-as-you-go structure, where you only use what you need.

Graphiant’s unique innovation and architecture combines the advantages of traditional MPLS, SD-WAN and SRv6 to create a new wide area network that is entirely programmable using metadata by APIs. Graphiant’s marketplace empowers businesses to publish their connected applications and services for private use for their target audience. Businesses can consume existing networks instead of building new infrastructure to support their network or for establishing B2B connectivity.

All customer control plane and data plane traffic and connectivity is encrypted end to end and never decrypted outside of the customer premises.

The Graphiant Stateless Core is a globally distributed private backbone that utilizes a new metadata protocol to remove all customer state information from the backbone. It delivers private connectivity to resources and services (applications, clouds, business partners) with direct any-to-any paths and lower latency. The Stateless Core provides programmable pathing & SLAs for customers to interact via policy and metadata.

Customers connect to the Graphiant Stateless Core from the cloud services via private connections to the Graphiant Gateways, from their Data Centers, Colocation facilities, and branches via software running on COTS hardware, and from their business partners via 3rd party gateways. Once connected, the customer controls the connectivity via a simple-to-use cloud-based portal.

Yes, cloud service can be privately accessed via the Graphiant Gateways to provide site-to-cloud, cloud-to-cloud, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

The Graphiant Portal is the single-entry point to access, configure, and monitor the Graphiant service. Alternatively, customers can configure and use API-driven third-party management to manage and monitor the Graphiant NaaS.
